Our sizes

We like mixing figure-fit with more generously cut fashion. That's why we have four different types of tailoring. You'll find information on the different types of fit in the detailed descriptions of each item. The choice of material also influences the amount of movement allowed by a garment. Knits and jersey-knits have more give in them than woven, less stretchy materials. That's why our weaves are often more generously tailored. For you to be as happy as possible with your purchases, we recommend that you spend a few moments taking your measurements and comparing them with our size chart.

Gudrun Sjödén’s own ecolabel

Next to each garment representing an eco-friendly choice, you’ll now be seeing the following symbols, in a system we call Gudrun’s Good Guide:

Gudrun’s Good Fibres

Eco-Green.jpg

These items are made entirely or partly from a material grown and produced with sustainability in mind. The fibres we categorise as a good environmental option are organically grown, recycled, naturally retted flax, Tencel® lyocell, Lenzing Modal®, silk, alpaca, vegetable tanned and dyed leather along with wood and rubber. We impose requirements for transparency and we audit manufacturer certification.

Gudrun’s Good Manufacturing

Eco-Production.jpg

These products are manufactured entirely or largely at audited factories geared to the best possible production processes for the external environment and human health. We make strict requirements for all the influential processes in the manufacturing to be certified, in some cases all the way to the stitching factory. We recognise the GOTS, Fairtrade and STeP by OEKO-TEX standards.

Gudrun’s Good Guide
– A whole collection to take pride in.

We aim to have as many of our products as possible produced in an environmentally-friendly way, not just a limited and exclusive line. Over the decades, environmental awareness has evolved and gone in and out of fashion. From the 80s when eco-friendliness was tentative and virtually impossible, through the 90s when we launched our first organic collection, to today when green choices are obvious.

In the forest of eco-labelling systems, we felt that having our own label would make it easier for our customers to find their way around our collections. So, in 2008 we introduced our own eco-labelling system, which we called our Leaves label, and in 2017 we will be updating our labelling system and Gudrun’s Good Guide.

The forest promises endless variety depending on the time of day and the season. This range pays tribute to woodland vegetation and its dappled light. Contrasts and combinations. The same design motifs, but in different colours, using different techniques and materials. The slightly heavier jacquard jersey versus the airier voile weave. Embroidery in cool white against magical black. For coordinating and contrasting or pairing with solids. The Swedish names of the design motifs evoke nature’s grasses: “Vind”, “Karolina” and “Timotej”. Stalks for mindful contemplation in the wild or for crafting into baskets and other handicrafts.
