Gudrun Sjödén's own eco-label

Over the years, my commitment to sustainable design and the inspiration I draw from nature's flora and fauna have been some of my guiding principles. I have also seen how these values are being lost and destroyed in the textile industry. Over the decades, environmental awareness has changed and has gone in and out of fashion. From the 80s when eco-friendly was tentative and almost impractical, through the 90s when we launched our first organic collection, to today when green choices are obvious. We believe that small steps will lead to great results. That's why we are working tirelessly to increase the number of environmentally sound products in our collections. There is a jungle of organic labels in the market and we decided that a simple leaf design would help not only us but you, the customer, when making green choices. We've put the following symbols next to each garment for which we've made an extra environmentally-friendly choice.

Three leaves are awarded to our 100% organic cotton products with certification at every stage of the production chain. The entire process includes the following stages: cultivation of the cotton, spinning, knitting/weaving, dyeing/printing, cutting out and stitching. Each stage is GOTS and/or Fairtrade certified, inspected by international independent inspection organisations. Our fabric shoes are made in Pakistan in compliance with Fairtrade Standards, the organic cotton is grown in India by farmers certified by Fairtrade and the natural rubber in the soles comes from an FSC-certified plantation in Sri Lanka. The dying and printing processes meet the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

Two leaves are awarded to our products made with more than 2/3 organic cotton or recycled fibres. Similarly, some of our regenerated fibres, Lenzing Modal® and TENCEL® lyocell, are so environmentally-friendly that we have decided to award them two leaves. Examples of fabrics or fabric blends with two leaves are:
Products made of 50% organic cotton/50% Lenzing Modal®
Products made of 100% TENCEL® lyocell

One leaf is awarded to our other fabrics that are an environmentally responsible alternative:
Products with at least 2/3 lyocell, modal, linen, silk, wool, vegetable-tanned leather, jute, coir or hemp
For example, products made of 50% organic cotton/50% modal

No leaves
Products made of conventionally produced cotton
Products made of modal that is not certified (not from Lenzing)
For example, products made of 50% conventional cotton/50% modal (certified or not)
Other products
Our policy regarding our own eco-labelling is to downgrade rather than upgrade.

Our sizes

We like mixing figure-fit with more generously cut fashion. That's why we have
four different types of tailoring. You'll find information on the different types of fit in the detailed descriptions of each item. The choice of material also influences the amount of movement allowed by a garment. Knits and jersey-knits have more give in them than woven, less stretchy materials. That's why our weaves are often more generously tailored. For you to be as happy as possible with your purchases, we recommend that you spend a few moments taking your measurements and comparing them with our size chart.
