Candle holders

A video showing hands decorating hand-painted Christmas baubles and other hanging decorations from Gudrun Sjödén in a warm crafting setting with dried oranges and ribbons.

Follow our step-by-step guide:

You’ll need:
•    Gudrun Sjödén’s white ribbon (or other decorative trim)
•    One or more candle holders
•    Scissors
•    Natural elements: rosehip stems, small sprigs of greenery, dried oranges, etc.
•    A tealight or taper candle (depending on the candle holder)

1. Measure how much ribbon you need by wrapping it around the candle holder at the point where you will tie it. Cut it long enough to allow for tying a knot or bow.
2. Wrap the ribbon around the candle holder, ensuring it lies flat and even, then gently tighten it.
3. Tie it with a decorative knot or bow. Adjust and shape the bow until it looks just the way you want it.
4. Add some natural elements, if you like, such as rosehips, small sprigs or green leaves.
5. Place the candle in the holder. Make sure that the ribbon and any decorative features are well clear of the flame.
6. Group the candle holders together – an odd number and different heights create visual interest.
7. Savour the cosy ambience!

 A useful tip!
•    Combine several candle holders with different ribbon widths.
•    Match the ribbons with soft furnishings in the room for a harmonious look.
•    Ideal for dressing up your Christmas table
