The Norwegian impressionist painter Oda Krohg of the Norwegian nobility wed Christian Krohg and went on to become known as “Kristiania’s Bohemian Princess”. As an artist, she painted in a light palette, and was affiliated with the Skagen Painters of Denmark. She liked to dress in solid colours with a simple rose as a brooch or corsage. In this range, the rose features as a design motif in both knitted and embroidered pieces. Here the emphasis is on wearable solid colours in understated tonal transitions and fabulous fabrics like linen jersey, cotton and wool. Team with a felted beret and an artsy, leisurely longline waistcoat. See also the embroidered wool bag with its Norwegian folk-art influences, a style celebrated by the fine art elite.
