About 14 years ago, I stumbled upon the brand Gudrun Sjödén. My best friend always liked to wear Gudrun clothes and she always caught my eye with her very unique colourful style in bright red. She is an eye-catcher!
But wearing colourful clothes wasn't for me because I felt more comfortable in black clothes and wanted to express my affiliation to the subculture.
So my first Gudrun pieces were a black swimsuit with white polka dots in a charming retro style and later an embroidered waistcoat in black and grey.
I still own this waistcoat. In my pictures you can see how I'm wearing it nowadays. One time with a purple polka dot dress and turtleneck, the other time with the black Carmen dress from the last summer collection. I like how timeless the clothes are and that they can be combined very well with newer items. Garments with plant motifs and embroidery in particular have a special place in my heart.
A decade has passed since I bought the waistcoat, but it's not just the waistcoat that has got older. I have too. And over time, my dark clothing style has expanded. I like to wear red and berry colours. Today I know that many styles are possible, I don't have to commit to one. Sometimes dressed in dark colours, sometimes in pink, but always me.
