I adore this vibrant city skyline where old buildings blend with modern ones, where food and art experiences are offered in culturally significant industrial spaces. And then, there's the constant proximity to the sea; the canal that calmly flows through the city, the various harbours with boats, and of course, the beach with its popular sea baths. Somehow, being here and gazing out over the water makes me feel closer to the world!
Malmö offers food enthusiasts like myself an exciting food culture with flavours from around the world. I can recommend spending a few hours in Saluhallen where you'll find, among other things, a stone oven bakery, a cheese counter, and a fantastic seafood restaurant.
A stone's throw away is the shipyard city where you'll find a delightful Italian gelateria. Here, you can enjoy an affogato (espresso with ice cream) and witness a French restaurant taking shape in the old foundry.
I sometimes bring along a sketchbook here and try to capture the ever-changing cityscape!
