CAPE TOWN – colors of freedom and savanna-inspired hues

For this colorful series, we were inspired by the famous buildings in South Africa’s Bo-Kaap. The colors symbolize freedom in an area that is as rich with history as it is with colors – and where a painted staircase inspired a pattern on a knit dress! South Africa’s areas of abundant flora also inspired us, and that inspiration comes into full bloom here. There is a print and a pattern design on a jacquard-knit cardigan, as well as placed hand-made embroidery on a jersey top. In addition to vibrant colors like dark peony, aqua green and leaf green, notes of the savanna show up in ocher and olive green on a woven linen blend.
