My Favorite Christmas Treat

I love baking, both bread and cookies, and during Christmas, there are, of course, many opportunities for this! Here, I've baked gingerbread cookies, including figures like women, pigs, hearts, and trains. 😊 We have various cookie cutters from when our children were small, and we bought different ones that suited their interests.

When I bake, I like to use my beautiful red apron that I bought in one of Gudrun Sjödén's Christmas collections a few years ago. I also wore it this summer when I worked as a breakfast hostess at a small country hotel just outside Simrishamn in Sweden, so it works year-round!

When the gingerbread cookies were done, I made a batch of my Rocky Road fudge – it's probably my favorite among Christmas treats. A mixture of milk and dark chocolate combined with peanuts and small marshmallows – sweet and salty! Here's the recipe if you'd like to try.

Sonja's Rocky Road Fudge
200 g dark chocolate
200 g milk chocolate
1.5 dl chunky peanut butter
200 g dry-roasted peanuts
2.5 dl small marshmallows

Melt the chocolate in a bowl over hot water. Stir in the peanut butter until melted. Mix in the peanuts and let it cool slightly. Stir in the marshmallows.

Line a small baking pan with foil, grease it, and spread the mixture into it. Let it chill in the refrigerator for at least two hours. Lift out the baking pan and cut into small pieces. Store in a cool place.

Good luck!

Warm regards,
