Most garments are best reshaped while damp. Clothes with embellishments like embroidery and sequins or with delicate finishes and textures should be washed inside out, or inside a mesh delicates bag. Our plush velour should be tumble-dried on low/medium heat to maintain its softness. Our down-filled garments should be tumble-dried on low/medium heat with at least three dryer balls until the garments are completely dry. Avoid dry cleaning as far as possible. Always follow the specific care recommendations on the label inside the garment and on our website for each item.
We do not use superwash finished wool in our garments, but all-natural wool. Wool shrinks mainly due to mechanical action, not due to heat. We therefore recommend hand washing our woollen garments. Clothes containing wool can be washed by hand or at 30°C on the machine wool cycle and using special wool detergent. Gently squeeze out the water. Roll the garment up in an absorbent towel to soak up the water, reshape while damp and dry flat. Obviously, airing your woollen garments outdoors is always best for the environment!
Store jersey garments and knitwear flat. These garments tend to stretch in length when wet after washing if hung up on a clothes hanger. Some garments have ribbon loops sewn into the shoulder seams to allow them to be hung on a clothes hanger – be sure to use these! Even the finest of wool fabrics may show some pilling after repeated wear. Carefully remove any pilling using a fabric shaver or a de-pilling comb.
Shoes and bags
made of leather, suede and nubuck should be professionally cleaned for stubborn stain removal. We recommend treating them with a stain- and water-repellent spray, especially before wearing them for the first time.
For leather shoes, remove light soiling with a shoe brush and then apply shoe polish to feed the leather and then buff to restore shine. For suede and nubuck articles – use a suede brush to refresh the nap and help remove any stains.
Every garment comes with a spare button attached to the care label – be sure to save it!
