Block-printed organic cotton clothing

The printing patterns are carved into blocks of hard, densely grained wood. It really is a work of art. Some fine lines are made in metal.

We want the patterns to have a handcrafted appearance. We leave tiny gaps here and there, not perfect, but they elevate the handcrafted feel.

“I like my block-printed designs to be produced by the Dharan family in Bagru. They have preserved this fantastic traditional skill and art on a slightly larger scale. Mrs. Raj Kanwar set up the block-printing workshop about 40 years ago. She runs it together with her son and daughter-in-law. They are all qualified designers.

The workshop is in the small town of Bagru on the outskirts of Jaipur, west of New Delhi. Seventeen businesses here share and manage their own wastewater treatment system. It’s good to know that the wastewater is being correctly treated.”
