Gudrun travels to the home of ikat weaving – Hyderabad, where this traditional weaving technique lives on. She sees how the fabric comes to life as the yarn is wrapped with thread or wax, then dyed in multiple rounds and woven into vivid, rhythmic patterns. In this series, we use warp ikat, where the look of each thread is determined before the fabric is woven. The resulting garments are infused with the magic of craftsmanship and brilliant colours.

The Indian rainbow palette
We are being creative using coloured threads from “Indra’s bow” – the rainbow in Indian mythology. The Hyderabad series contains a spectrum of styles: ikat in rich colours, airy Indra checks, and the bold Shiva print. The patterned garments are accompanied by solid-colour essentials, crinkled voile trousers and our favourite cardigan, now with beautiful, textured knitted checks.
