Gudrun always finds it practical to start a photoshoot at the hotel. When we arrive at the town of Pondicherry, that’s what we do. There are yellow walls. There are walls covered in greenery. There is a lovely long terrace outside our rooms. Perfect settings for our colourful block-print creations and soft knitwear. We have mixed the patterns in a wonderful, loose-fit summer dress – in yellow, blue and light red.

Focus on yellow
A collection with a truly romantic spirit! We take inspiration for our palette of colours from Indian wedding celebrations, which go on for many days. Each day is devoted to a particular colour. Yellow is the soul of the Haldi ceremony – a paste made of oil, rosewater and haldi, which is turmeric, is smeared over the face, neck, hands and feet of the bride and groom.
Creative block prints
When printing patterns with wooden blocks, we never know in advance what the results will be. As if the garments have a soul of their own.
In India, small, colourful flowers are widely used as decoration on tables, buildings and in gardens. And as beautiful garlands to wear around the neck. We block print ours!
