Downjacket Paradise

What do you need to get you through the dark, cold winter? The answer is a fabulously snug down jacket with our exotic “Paradise” pattern. It’s not “just” practical outdoor clothing for cold weather and not “just” super environmentally-friendly because it is made from recycled down and recycled fabric. When you see its unique design and burst of colour, you simply can’t help feeling happy! Passionate design in all its splendour gets us through the winter.

Recycled down – how it’s made:

  1. According to French tradition, old feather down quilts need replacing regularly. Our suppliers in France take care of these quilts.

  2. They’re sorted into different categories in the French factory. No less than 97% can be reused. The fabric from the quilts is also reused as thick textile insulation in other products.

  3. The down is then washed and sterilised in Hungary. The experts here use a process to ensure that no recycled down gets mixed with new down.

We like mixing figure-fit with more generously cut fashion. That's why we have four different types of tailoring. You'll find information on the different types of fit in the detailed descriptions of each item. The choice of material also influences the amount of movement allowed by a garment. Knits and jersey-knits have more give in them than woven, less stretchy materials. That's why our weaves are often more generously tailored. For you to be as happy as possible with your purchases, we recommend that you spend a few moments taking your measurements and comparing them with our size chart.

Gudrun’s Good Guide
– An entire collection to be proud of.

Our goal is to have as many products as possible produced to meet environmentally friendly standards, not just a small exclusive portion. Environmental awareness has evolved over the decades, wandering in and out of fashion. From the first tentative, almost unfeasible efforts of the 1980s, through our first eco-collection in the 1990s to today, when green is taken for granted.

In the maze of environmental labels, we felt that having an ecolabel of our own could be a simple way for you as a customer to navigate among our collections. In 2008 we developed our Leaf-based system and in 2017 we are updating this system and addingGudrun’s Good Guide.

How do you survive winter and the approaching darkness? In an ultra warm and comfy down coat with the delightfully exotic “Paradise” pattern, that’s how! It’s not “just” a practical and functional piece of outerwear for cold weather, and it’s not “just” made with superbly eco-friendly materials like recycled down and recycled fabric. With its utterly unique design and appeal, it’s also going to spread joy to everyone who sees you wearing it! It’s the overall, wonderfully passionate design that gets us through winter.
