Oda Krohg – Norwegian rose in the studio

The Norwegian Impressionist Oda Krohg grew up in a wealthy family and married Christian Krohg. Oda became a bohemian artist and was referred to as “the bohemian princess of Kristiania”. She was associated with the Skagen Painters and she painted in light and nuanced colors. She often dressed in solid colors, matched with a brooch or another piece of jewelry featuring a single rose. It appears in this series as a knit and embroidered pattern element. We’ve emphasized versatile, understated solid colors here, along with comfy materials like linen jersey, cotton and wool. Add a felted beret and a laid-back, artistic long vest. And take a look at the embroidered wool purse inspired by Norwegian folklore, which was emphasized by leading artists as a style ideal.
