Gudrun travels to the home of ikat weaving – Hyderabad, where this traditional weaving technique lives on. She sees how the fabric comes to life as the yarn is wrapped with thread or wax, then dyed in multiple rounds and woven into vivid, rhythmic patterns. In this series, we use warp ikat, where the look of each thread is determined before the fabric is woven. The resulting garments are infused with the magic of craftsmanship and brilliant colors.

Tone on tone, layer upon layer
Touches of blue bring the fabric alive

Rich colors in vibrant patterns
An abundance of color in different forms
A palette from India’s rainbow
We’re getting creative with the gorgeous colors of “Indra’s bow” – the rainbow in India. The Hyderabad series contains a spectrum of styles: ikat in rich colors, airy Indra checks, and the bold Shiva print. The patterned garments are accompanied by solid-colored essentials, crinkled voile pants and our favorite cardigan, now with beautiful, textured-knit checks.
