Gudrun’s Good Deed – 20 years of small steps together with you

Since 2006, Gudrun’s Good Deed has been a natural part of our work. By donating some of the proceeds from the sale of selected items, we support projects and organizations that we find especially moving. In this way, color, creativity and design get to make a genuine difference – one small step at a time.

Holiday 2025 – BirdLife International

During the Holiday 2025 season, a portion of the proceeds from every Luna sweater sold went to BirdLife International – a global environmental organization working to protect birds, their habitats and biodiversity in general.

Holiday 2024 – Friends of Handicraft (Handarbetets Vänner)

During the Holiday 2024 season, a portion of the proceeds from each Wanja tunic sold went to Handarbetets Vänner. This association and center has worked to promote textile craftsmanship and textile art since 1874, and celebrated its 150-year anniversary in 2024!

Holiday 2023 – charity project in Nepal

During the Holiday 2023 season, we donated a portion of the proceeds from each knit beret sold to a charity project in Nepal. We wanted to contribute to a spinning mill that was under construction. There weren’t any wool spinning mills in Nepal, and instead, everything was sent to China for spinning. Our hope was that our donation would ultimately contribute to more means of livelihood in the country, and thus to a better life for many people.

Holiday 2022 – Dalarnas Museum

During the Holiday 2022 season, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of selected products went to Dalarnas Museum in Falun, Sweden. The museum is the county museum of Dalarna and is tasked with collecting, preserving, studying and displaying objects, stories and information about cultural environments. In turn, these cultural environments help to describe how people in Dalarna have lived in, made use of, and moved around the region – from the past to the present day.

Our donation was used for the work to renew the museum’s main exhibition on textile heritage.

Holiday 2021 – Artist Scholarship

During the Holiday 2021 season, we donated a portion of the proceeds from each artist’s blouse sold to aspiring artists who were applying to or studying at a school of art, design or craft. Via Gudrun’s Good Deed, our customers were also able to apply for one of our artist scholarships. Our hope was to contribute to a continued passion for color and form, and to help cultivate it among more people all over the world.

Holiday 2020 – Nordic Museum in Stockholm

During the Holiday 2020 season, we donated a portion of the proceeds from every Kranskulla cardigan sold to the Nordic Museum in Stockholm.  The Nordic Museum is a cultural history museum located on Djurgården in Stockholm, covering life in Sweden from the sixteenth century to today. The museum has everything from folk costumes and furniture to information about traditions, celebrations and everyday life. It combines history, design and stories about how people have lived and continue to live in the Nordic region.

Holiday 2019 – a school in Kashmir

During the Holiday 2019 season, a portion of the proceeds from every ide robe sold went to a school in Kashmir. For many years, we have worked closely with a manufacturer in Kashmir and we know that our production of hand-made ornaments there is important. That’s why we wanted to support a school in Kashmir and give schoolchildren and their teachers the proceeds from Gudrun’s Good Deed 2019.
