Complete your style and your journeyThe train station in Shimla was the first setting for our photoshoot for The Traveller. It’s filled with old-fashioned charm and people coming and going – the perfect place for our pictures. Soon enough, the Shimla Express comes rumbling down the tracks. The station fills with life and movement. A little group of monkeys rushes over to boxes of food and drink intended for the train passengers standing on the platform. The monkeys are incredibly skilled at untying string, but they’re quickly caught by the man who owns the boxes. The pink down coat is perfect for travel, in summer or winter. It’s easy to roll up and put away. The big printed tote bag is just right as a carry-on, whether you’re traveling by train or by plane.

Gudrun reads online that the railway between Shimla and Kalka was built in 1903. It is 96 kilometers long and the elevation goes from 650 meters to 2,076 meters. There are 103 tunnels and over 800 bridges. The Mountain Railways of India are on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The trains have different names. For example, Himalayan Queen and Shivalik Deluxe Express. The stations are called Dharampur, Solan, Kandaghat and Summer Hill. Over 9,000 workers were involved during construction, and almost all of the bridges were built in stone and by hand. Many of the train cars are relatively new, but built in a retro style.

It’s lovely here, with big windows facing tall trees. On the first morning, two little monkeys were sitting on Gudrun’s window sill. They are sound-insulated, so the monkeys didn’t know she had spotted them. The collection has a kimono in lightly printed viscose and a nightgown in jersey. The prints are intended to be worn together.

One cardigan – eight colorsThis cardigan comes in so many colors – from orange and coral to graphite and dark ash gray. It’s a classic style with a round neck and big mother-of-pearl buttons, knit in an alpaca blend. The alpaca is originally from South America, but is now also kept as a domestic animal in other countries in Europe and North America.

Summer Hill is the station after Shimla. It is busy and bustling, filled with travelers, luggage waiting to be loaded and monkeys teasing dogs. The cable-knit cardigan in lambswool with a classic pattern of checks and cables has lovely buttons that are little works of textile art. It’s wonderfully comfy and soft, in any color you choose. And choosing isn’t easy – there are five colors!

We love pockets. All pockets. But an inner pocket is a traveler’s secret superpower. It’s the perfect place for your wallet – whether you’re wearing the down coat or carrying our little shoulder bag. Or why not the passport case, so that you can avoid that panicked “where’s my passport?” dance!

Matching detailsHere, you’ll find accessories to make your trip smoother and more colorful. All in matching colors that fit the collection’s palette – the bag, wallet, passport case and indispensable luggage tag. Another must-have is a pair of comfortable travel socks. They’ll make the journey softer and much comfier.
