In Gudrun’s world of patterns, there’s something for every personality! Our floral patterns range from lovely, delicate little bouquets to magnificent, dramatic floral landscapes with the look of a watercolor. Our dotted dresses have everything from simple dots in soft colors to big polka dots in dazzling hues. If you love stripes, you’ll find them in narrow and wide variations, in earth tones and bright, bold colors. Beyond these classic patterns, Gudrun’s garments are also often decorated with retro-inspired checks, beautiful animal motifs, and fruits and vegetables.

Every pattern you see in our collection has undergone a long journey. It begins with Gudrun’s artistic vision. Maybe the pattern was inspired by a summer meadow, the sun’s dance across the water, a dazzling sunset, or even the simplicity of a bowl of fruit on the table, or herbs in the kitchen window. No matter the path the pattern has taken from design to finished piece, our goal is always the same: to make dresses that are seen and felt. It may be quite clear that our patterned dresses make a statement – but what do we mean by “felt”? Well, materials and comfort always go hand in hand for our designers. On hot days, a dress in light organic cotton or cool linen is a perfect choice. When the temperature drops, we have warm alternatives in soft wool or lovely blends of materials that will keep you warm without ever compromising on style. Each material is carefully selected to ensure the pattern will come into its own, while comfort is always front and center.

Finding the perfect balance between comfort and style is also equally about fit. If you prefer slim-fit dresses, we have floral wrap dresses with patterns composed of trees, perennials and new summer seeds. If your go-to fit is airy and oversized, you’ll find A-line jersey dresses with or without sleeves, long-sleeved tunics with buttons, and lots of woven dresses with pintucks or gathered details.

Don’t be afraid to mix different patterns! A dress with a mini-floral pattern is perfect to pair with a shawl featuring a bigger floral pattern – or try combining a striped dress with a cardigan patterned with different shapes for a fabulous contrast. Different seasons also offer plenty of opportunities to combine your patterned favorites in many different ways. In fall and winter, make your dress extra cozy by layering it over a turtleneck sweater and warm, colorful leggings. In spring and summer, let the dress be the focus by pairing it with sandals and simple accessories to emphasize the beauty of the pattern.
